With the increasing saturation of constructable land resources in big cities, the research on "indoor, miniaturization and oil-free" substation is of great significance for the coordinated development of substation construction and economic, social and ecological environment. Recently, Shenzhen aodian High Voltage Electric Co., Ltd. released an innovative product - 220kV evaporative cooling power transformer. As the key to promote the implementation of the "embedded auxiliary substation" project, the new power transformer will realize the construction of substations in high-density urban central areas.

According to the introduction, 220kV evaporative cooling power transformer adopts new fluorocarbon material as insulation cooling medium, which has no flash point, no combustion and no explosion, and realizes the integration of fire protection, environmental protection and heat dissipation. "Compared with previous products, this product has a higher voltage level, a new record of non combustible power transformer capacity, and is more energy-saving, environmental friendly and efficient." Xiaoxia, chairman of Shenzhen aodian High Voltage Electric Co., Ltd., said that the product has been developed for five years and has broken through a series of core technical key problems. Among them, Shenzhen has played a great role in providing a good environment for innovative technology.

Lihanming, former deputy chief engineer of Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau Co., Ltd., believes that 220kV evaporative cooling power transformer is a breakthrough product with milestone significance in the history of power transformer science and technology development. On the one hand, it can prevent the fire and explosion accidents of power transformers and ensure the safety of people's lives and property; On the other hand, evaporative cooling power transformers can be "embedded" in office areas, production areas and living areas, greatly saving urban land space.

The Greater Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao is densely populated and has a huge demand for electricity. Take Shenzhen as an example. In 2019, the power load of Shenzhen reached 19.1 million KW, ranking first in China. At present, there are about 270 substations in Shenzhen, and more than 100 more will be built in the future. The conventional construction covers a huge area. It is estimated that if the embedded auxiliary substation is used to replace it, more than ten substations can be reduced in Guangming District of Shenzhen alone.
