According to the plan, China Southern Power Grid Corporation is building an operation service platform integrating Beidou location service, short message communication management, time-frequency monitoring and other basic modules. According to the plan, the platform will be put into operation at the end of June this year. At that time, it can provide Beidou high-precision positioning services for Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan.

Beidou's high-precision positioning service can reach meter level, sub meter level, centimeter level and millimeter level, and will play an important role in autonomous inspection of power grid UAVs and monitoring of geological disasters. According to the plan, in 2022, China Southern Power Grid Corporation will realize full coverage of independent inspection of lines of 500 kV and above; In 2025, China Southern Power Grid Corporation will build at least 300 Beidou high-precision geological disaster monitoring stations to provide accurate and real-time geological disaster monitoring and early warning services for transmission lines in the power supply area of China Southern Power Grid. At present, China Southern Power Grid Corporation has piloted the application of geological disaster monitoring in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and other provinces and regions. The plan systematically describes various power application scenarios of China Southern Power Grid Corporation to promote the integrated development of Beidou application and power business from three aspects: infrastructure construction, platform construction and business application, and carries out in-depth application of Beidou system from eight business areas, including biotechnology, infrastructure, materials, marketing, dispatching, safety supervision, international and public. During the "14th five year plan" period, China Southern Power Grid Corporation will further expand the application scope of Beidou System in the power business in combination with the characteristics of the power industry, create a series of typical demonstration applications with company characteristics by using the independently developed Beidou operation service platform and related terminal equipment, and carry out data collection and sharing based on the company's unified data center to improve the level of smart grid data sharing and intelligent decision-making.
It is reported that China Southern Power Grid Corporation has completed the construction of 607 base stations covering the power supply area by the end of 2020, and actively carried out the research on the key technologies of Beidou system and the construction of joint laboratories.
